Specialist from CRO, PPD, awarded magazine’s award.

In a recent press release, PPD have announced the recognition of their associate Stuart Meredith as PharmaTimes magazine ‘Clinical Research Associate of the Year’. Meredith is a senior clinical research associate (CRA) at the company, based in the UK. His role involves ensuring that clinical research sites comply with industry standards; maintaining the quality of services provided by the company.

The award has arisen from a year-long competition, with finalists first completing a GCP test and a 1000-word essay on operational efficiency. Ten finalists were selected and the winner was chosen based on a presentation and question and answer session with a panel of three judges. Meredith described the process as a “tough but extremely rewarding experience”.

Director of PharmaTimes, Sean Morgan-Jones, commented on the selection, “The CRA plays a pivotal role between investigator site and sponsor. For Stuart to win against such tough opposition speaks volumes for the caliber of PPD’s CRA talent pool.”

PPD provide ‘drug discovery, development and life-cycle management services’ to a wide range of organizations, including biotechnology/pharmaceutical firms as well as government institutions and academia. Meredith commented on his achievement, “I am honored to have won the award, not only for myself, but also on behalf of PPD. Our team has a reputation for expertise and quality, and this peer recognition showcases our commitment to providing the very best service to our biopharma clients and, ultimately, the patients who need life-saving therapies.”
