MOBIE ion separation instrument to debut at 69th American Society for Mass Spectrometry conference

Instrument provider MOBILion Systems, Inc. (PA, USA) hope to exhibit their first commercial high-resolution ion mobility (HRIM) instrument, MOBIE, at the 69th annual American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS, 31 October–4 November, 2021) conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Introduced in June 2021, MOBIE operates on Structures for Lossless Ion Manipulation (SLIM) technology developed by Richard Smith, Director of Proteomics Research at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (WA, USA). SLIM technology aims to reduce the loss of ion and molecule portions during the separation process during mass spectrometry. As a result, MS instruments often are unable to analyze such analytes as protein biomarkers due to separation technologies that do not provide sufficient resolution and/or sensitivity. SLIM aims to allow...
