Survey: the future of bioanalysis for biologics development

Biologics encompass a wide range of therapeutics and drug products isolated from natural sources. Products such as vaccines, blood and blood components, allergenics, cells, genes, tissues and recombinant proteins isolated from human, animal or microorganism sources are all considered biologics.

Advantages of biologics over small molecules include high specificity and less off-target adverse effects. With an increased interest in biologics, the need for bioanalytical solutions and technologies supporting the quantification of biologics and biomarkers is also increasing.
