“…the application of various liquid-phase extraction methods should be encouraged whenever possible, especially in combination with new analytical instruments…”
Sample preparation is ‘greener’ when based on liquid-phase extraction.
Today’s bioanalytical laboratories are under increased pressure to achieve more for less and to use environmentally friendly methods. Although recent discoveries in analytical technology resulted in instruments with higher selectivity and sensitivity, the actual price of analytical instruments continues to be very high. Accordingly, cost savings are usually attained by reducing the cost of sample preparation and by shortening the overall analysis time.
