“Despite the continual introduction of expensive high-tech solutions, the bottlenecks still continue to appear, and the question of how to manage analysts and equipment effectively to maximize throughput and maintain quality still needs to be addressed.”
The ever-increasing demand of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries to cut costs and reduce drug-development times has meant that productivity gains in bioanalytical laboratories is a holy grail that has been actively pursued for many years. Instrument suppliers have all extolled the virtues of their particular systems in terms of increased throughput and productivity, but, with each new development, one bottleneck has been replaced by another.
