American biotechnology product development company, Thermo Fisher Scientific (MA, USA), have announced the release of a new high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system and new chromatography data system (CDS) software.

New liquid chromatography system

The HPLC system comes as an expansion of the Vanquish platform. The new liquid chromatography system is designed to maintain a consistent throughput of reliable results. A solvent monitor which tracks mobile phase consumption and waste accumulation could be implemented to minimize unexpected downtime. A user interface designed for operators of all experience levels features custom injection programs, tunable gradient delay volume and a range of thermostatting techniques which are designed to facilitate method transfer.

Linda De Jesus, vice president and general manager of high-performance chromatography solutions (Thermo Fisher) explained: “Routine analysis laboratories are expected to deliver precise results without delays. Chromatographers are often required to run methods from a diverse range of instrumentation, which presents a unique set of challenges, especially when integrating systems into an existing infrastructure. While the Vanquish Core HPLC System enables our customers to deliver the results demanded of them, it also drastically simplifies method transfer and offers easy integration with many leading CDS software infrastructure.”

The Vanquish HPLC system also integrates to Chromeleon 7.3, the newly released CDS software from Thermo Fisher. The new enterprise-level CDS software, Chromeleon 7.3, is designed to facilitate greater automation and support more efficient workflows. The new CDS software utilizes cloud-based technology which allows operation from laboratory locations across the globe, with the potential to increase flexibility, productivity and maintain compliance.

Matt Hazlewood, senior director of global chromatography data systems (Thermo Fisher) added: “Organizations are looking to improve efficiency while tracking and tracing all data for auditing purposes and regulatory compliance. Through the launch of Chromeleon 7.3 CDS software, customers can implement a scalable enterprise solution that increases productivity, while reducing costs and the burden on IT infrastructure – without impacting compliance.”
