New timsTOF instruments for in-depth, single-cell proteomics launched by Bruker

Bruker Corporation (MA, USA) announced at its 4D-Proteomics eXceed Symposium (1–3 June 2021; virtual) the release of two new trapped ion mobility spectrometry time-of-flight (timsTOF) instruments. The instruments, based on ion mobility separation and mass spectrometry, will offer further advancements in applications for proteomics, epiproteomics/PTM characterization and deep multiomic biomarker discovery. The result of a collaboration between the laboratory of Matthias Mann at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (Martinsried, Germany) and Evosep (Odense, Denmark), the timsTOF SCP can quantify around 1500 proteins per cell in hundreds of ex situ isolated single cells with ultra-high sensitivity.
