Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (MD, USA) recently announced the opening of its Shimadzu Solution Center, which will operate out of the company’s North American Headquarters. The center was set up as a means to enhance collaboration with customers, and enable the company to better meet their customers’ needs for instrument design and development.

The facility will showcase more than 30 scientific instruments and platforms, including mass spectrometers, liquid/gas chromatographs and TOC analyzers. In addition, the Shimadzu Solution Center will feature space for collaborative research, as well as video and conferencing equipment to facilitate customer interactions both within the center and in collaboration with manufacturing, software and R&D groups.

Shuzo Maruyama, President of Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, stated, “We are excited to offer this new capability to our existing and prospective customers.” Muruyama allocated the success of Shimadzu Scientific Instruments to their ability to modify hardware or create software directly from specific customer input, commenting, “Customers require that instruments and software fit their specific needs and workflows. Off the shelf or ‘one size fits all’ solutions are missing the mark for many customers.”

“With the addition of the Shimadzu Solution Center, we have greatly enhanced our potential to collaborate with our customers on research and the development of new instruments, software and diagnostic technologies,” Muruyama concluded.
