Productivity in bioanalysis

“Innovation should not be restricted to the sciences but should be seen as an integral part of the management process leading to higher throughput and, last but not least, a fulfilled work force.”

As in all forms of business, productivity is pivotal in ensuring the profitability and stability of the operation. A dictionary definition of productivity, of which there are many, is a measure of the efficiency of a process in converting unit input into output. This can be measured in financial terms, but in a declining market or oversupply of a service this may not always be an ideal parameter, although changes in the process will be needed to move back into profitability.
