Bioanalysis in drug discovery

“The implementation of ‘best practices’ does not compromise the intellectual property of individual companies. It is the choice of target and the way in which new chemical entities are designed to interact with that target that best represents the intellectual property of the drug developer.” What does this title mean? For readers of this journal the word ‘bioanalysis’ is clear but for others who use the term to define the characterization of biological macromolecules, it may not be; we are talking about the former aspect – the role of bioanalysis in the discovery process of small molecules.
