Analytical challenges and solutions in doping control: a perspective from the Swedish Doping Control Laboratory


This summer, immense sports festivities will take place in Brazil, the 2016 Olympic Games. The work to set up the Olympic anti-doping control laboratory is ongoing and anti-doping scientists from many of the anti-doping laboratories worldwide will join the team in Rio before and during the games to help out and complete the task of analyzing thousands of samples for a diverse pool of prohibited substances. Currently there are 35 doping control laboratories worldwide, each and every one holding the necessary accreditation issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
